The Cookies of Cooper Street | Mitten Crate

Cooper Street Cookies is a company with roots. Two brothers and their mother’s time tested technique for handmade cookies is a recipe for success. We met up with one of the brothers, Max, at his office in Birmingham (the old converted Postal Service building) for a quick Q&A about what makes these family recipe treats so successful.

Tell us a little about yourself and the company you own/run

My name is Max and I started Cooper Street Cookies with my Mom, Elaine. We took a family recipe and turned it into a successful business. We make all of our unique cookies by hand, and only use natural ingredients. Our cookies are low in sugar, calories, fat and carbs, and are nut free and dairy free. All of our ingredients and packaging comes from Michigan, and we hired about 30 people from all over our community.

What is your location and when did you start/how long has the company been in business

We are based in Birmingham Michigan and started the company 3 years ago.

What makes your products special/unique

They are a baked good, right in between a cookie and a biscotti, but there is really nothing out there like it. It’s light and crunchy, we have unique flavors, consistency, and we offer a product that is allergy friendly. All while being delicious and healthy.

What’s the favorite part about your job

Getting to work with an amazing team, making amazing cookies! This is a family business and I am lucky to get to work on this company with them.

Where can we buy more of your products

Kroger, Busch’s, Whole Foods, Sams Club, Westborn and Market Square

Whats the best way to enjoy/eat/prepare/utilize your product

Dunk them in coffee, tea, milk or crumble on top of ice cream or yogurt. I personally like them right out of the box.

Well see ya, we are off to polish off a container of Michigan grown cherry cookie now!!
